Which of the following statements about the Turing test do you believe to be true? (check all that apply)

Computers can reliably pass the original Turing test now and are therefore already intelligent in this sense.

The CAPTCHA's that you encounter on the web are examples of a `reverse' Turing test.

Turing's proposed test is one way to think about what it means for a computer/machine to exhibit intelligent behavior.

Face recognition and machine translation are examples of the Turing test, as proposed originally, being passed by computers.

Web-intelligence is about / includes:

Social networks that enable people to converse intelligently on the web.

Including capabilities analogous to human predictive intelligence within practical applications, as already present in many web-based systems.

Web-sites that converse with us so well that we believe they are human, as in the Turing test.

Traditional databases technology:

Is being challenged by new Big Data technology that has emerged out of web-based platforms such as Google, Facebook and Yahoo.

Works fine whether in large enterprises or web-scale computing as in Google, Facebook or Twitter.

Did not run on the kind of machines used by web-platforms, i.e., required higher powered computers.

Is NOT used by web-based platforms such as Google, Facebook and Twitter for their core data processing

Big Data is about / includes:

Storage and backup of large volumes of data.

High-performance computing such as weather prediction.

Exploiting big-data technology in place of traditional database technology

Handling large numbers with many millions of digits.
