The future plans
Our nominal summer school is now over, but these materials should remain available indefinitely. In a couple of weeks, Coursera will migrate them to a different platform, but that should not affect the access.
In the Spring 2015, we plan to expand these materials and have a full-blown class on this subject. Stay tuned.

Read the "About" and "How..." pages, please!
Some students are posting comments that indicate that they have not read the About and How it works pages. Please read and understand those before posting comments or requests that have been already answered there, or that are directly contradictory to what is stated in the school description. Thank you.

Welcome to the first Caltech-JPL Virtual Summer School on Big Data Analytics
Please read the About and How it works pages, linked on the left.
The materials presented here correspond to the advanced summer school organized by Caltech and JPL, held on Sept. 2-12, 2014. Here we are presenting the instruction materials, for your own self-guided study, on your own schedule. There are no quizzes, exams, grading, or certificates; our goal is simply to be a learning resource that is open to anyone. The material is organized following the lectures as given during the summer school session. Coursera students can study them on their own pace.
While all of the lectures and other essential content is on the site from the beginning, we will likely be adding more links during the interactive school (Sep. 2-12). If you are not in a hurry, you may want to wait until Sep. 12, when everything will be in place, but if you do start sooner, check back on the previous days now and then to see if there is some new stuff added.
After Sep. 12, the school will be transferred to Coursera's new format for self-guided study. We'll post the details when finalized.
Enjoy!
