Hello. This week's lecture is given by me, for a change. I'm a composer and music technologist working at the Reid School of Music at the University of Edinburgh. My specialty is algorithmic composition, which is writing software, to make complete pieces of music, but I also improvise on laptop and saxophones. This week, we're going to look at rhythm and form. We looked at pitches in week one, and we can think of pitch as our Y axis, that is on the vertical axis, with time now being on our X axis, moving horizontally from left to right.
