The set cover assignment is an experiment in collaboration at the code level. We have designed set cover to be an open source assignment. Although, it looks-and-feels like all of the the other assignments, it will not count toward your final grade. However, you may ignore the typical collaboration policy guidelines and share source code with your classmates.

To foster code sharing on this assignment, we provide a github repository including various solutions to this problem, which you are free to use. We encourage you to fork this repository and share your algorithms for the set cover problem and discuss them in the laboratory forum.

In addition to the typical six core problems, the set cover assignment also includes an experimental "any problem" component. The any problem component allows you to submit a solution to any file provided in the "data" directory. The results of your submissions to this component are not graded on a point scale, but you can see the best solutions that have been submitted on the an experimental set cover leader board.
