Course format:

For each week in this five-week course, there will be about 3-5 video lectures. There will be supplemental reading attached to each, in PDF format. Practice problems will be an essential part of each week's curriculum. There will be a 10-point quiz each week that may be taken up to three times. Finally, each week will have a graded homework assignment worth 10 points. In week 1 and week 5, it will be auto graded through the quiz tool. For weeks 2-4, there will be peer graded assignments.

Grading policy:

Here is how the final grade for the course will be calculated:

  1. Weekly quizzes (5) 20 points each

  2. Weekly assignments (5) 20 points each

The assignments in weeks 2-4 will be peer-assessed and assigned a grade by five of your fellow students.

70% or more (140 total points) or more are needed for satisfactory completion

90% or more (180 total points) will allow for completion of the course with Distinction.

All graded materials are submitted through the course website and will be graded electronically by the course software.

  • For quizzes, you will allowed three attempts each. You will be able to see the explanations/ hints immediately after you submit. If you get a question wrong, we will not display the correct answer.
  • In-video quizzes will not count towards your course grade.
  • Quizzes must be submitted before the final exam due date to receive credit. However, we strongly urge you to do them each week as you move along with the lectures.
  • Late homeworks are allowed up to 14 days after their due date, but their weight will be discounted by 10%.
