Hi. Welcome to Bioinformatics Life Sciences on your computer. This is Bob Lessik. I'm coming to you on a very pleasant June summer day at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. And I'm really looking forward to doing some bioinformatics with you this summer. Reminder, the course starts Monday, June 9th. And our format is that each week we will have new material. So a five week course with five weeks of new material. What to expect? Each week you'll see some short video lectures and those video lectures are often accompanied by some short reading in PDF format. Generally, the best way to learn bioinformatics is by practice. So I'll have practice exercises, with answers provided. Those will be good topics of discussion, the discussion forum. I hope you have a lively discussion forum where you can ask me and some other students questions about bioinformatics. Very exciting field. For those of you that want to complete the coursework, and that's optional. We will have quizzes and weekly assignments. I'm looking forward to getting started. Again, we start June 9th, you'll have a whole week to access the first week's material and good luck and let's have a fabulous summer.
